Загрузка DEbian и настройка монитора

Здравствуйте всем.

Я новичок и только недавно поставил себе Debian Stretch 9. Есть две проблемы:

1. Не загружается система, когда помимо винчестера с Дебиан у меня еще подключены два винчестера (один с Windows 8, а второй просто NTFS). В чем может быть дело и как это исправить? Полагаю, что Дебиан где-то не там начинает искать загрузчик

2. Никак не могу поставить высокое разрешение для монитора. Карта Nvidia 9600Gt и монито 22 дюйма IIyama. В Виндовс держит 1600х1200 при 100Гц. В Дебиан что-то коло 1153 на сколько-то там и 60 Гц. Устают глаза. Скачал драйвер Nvidia из репозитория. Но все-равно в настройках не получается выставить хорошую частоту и высокое разрешение.
Как быть?

Как именно не загружается, что вообще происходит на экране, grub (выбор операционной системы) появляется???
Когда устанавливал дебиан, какие жесткие диски были подключены?
Приоритет жёстких дисков в биосе устанавливал?

Когда устанавливал Дебиан другие диски были отключены. В Биос приоритет выставляю и линукс начинает грузится и выдает начальный экран (там можно выбрать загрузку Линукс или линукс в безопасном режиме и еще System setup). Идет отсчет обратный (5 что-ли секунд). Потом начинает грузится первая опция, то есть Линукс

И выдает на экране что-то типа - mount mounting /dev on /root/dev failed: No such file or directory

Если остальные диски физически отключить. то все загружается нормально. Думаю, что-то Линукс на дисках спотыкается, не может их смонтировать

Никакого меню для загрузки нескольких систем я не устанавливал. Системы друг про друга не знают

Давайте посмотрим при отключенных дисках и запущенном linux  выводы команд
cat /etc/fstab
sudo fdisk -l
sudo dmidecode

так же может иметь значение в какой последовательности подключаете диски к системной плате по портам.

ну вот, сделал все четыре команды (3 от ferum и 1 от Griga). Загрузился в Дебиан, отключив два диска: один с Виндой, второй просто хранилище (NTFS)

Все заработало. Видать загрузчик обновился))
Спасибо!
С разрешением я вроде сам справился: прописал в xorg.conf ;)

С разрешением справился, но на 80%. Выставить нужное разрешение и частоту стало можно через приложение Nvidia, но при загрузке по умолчанию машина ставит другое разрешение. Видно, кроме xorg.conf есть еще где-то задание разрешения. Буду искать
