Не знаю по какой причине но слетела графическая оболочка, ничего не устанавливал, ничего не удалял, пользовался вчера только браузером, а сегодня попытался включить не запускается, работает только консоль, как можно восстановить что бы не переустанавливать, очень нужно.

Спасибо что отписались, но думаю что получилось, из под консоли переписал фай xorg.config на дефолтный вроде запустилась, сейчас буду пробовать ставить каталист амд 14.1 так как другой под мою видео карту не идет

Драйвера установились но все равно как то работает не правильно, при запуске выскакивают две ошибки не успеваю прочитать, одна из них связана с kvm, как просмотреть лог?

проблема у меня была такая же, решилась
# aticonfig --initial

Но не хочу создавать отдельный топик, так как по сути проблема в том же, а точнее с движком WebKit Chromium  и Google Chrome (пробовал Midori, с ним все ок).
В общем после запуска chromium или google-chrome выкидывает на окно логина. Установлена Debian Testing

amd catalyst 14.2 beta имеет баги и в сочетании с некоторыми видеокартами система неработоспособна (в частости у меня обе карточки от амд не работают на тестинге), мое предложение - ждать обновления, либо ставить стейбл.

amd catalyst 14.1 и вовсе с тестингом не работает. Актуальный 14,3, исправлены баги 14,2 - уже неделю как.

С моим железом все три указанные версии работали. Сейчас использую 14.3.
Возможно, там ещё какие-то проблемы, которые ведут к слому amd catalyst.

У меня тоже chromium вылетает и за ним летят иксы, так как я особо им не пользуюсь, то в даваться в подробности данной ошибки не было времени. Возможно стоит использовать более старую версию или найти свежую, не ту что в тестинге.

Catalyst как раз 14.3 и стоит.

Стейбл пробовал ставить - он не компилит модули dkms, при чем все хедеры, которые требуются есть. По логам не понятно, что ему мешает это сделать, так как в них констатируется лишь сам факт , что dkms не собрался.

С ядром 3,13 каталист ниже 14.2 не работает. Поэтому стабле и не компилится.

Если хотите установить стейбл, то Вам нужно будет откатить ядро (по моему, на 3,12 или 3,10 работало) и откатить xserver.

Это было на 14.2 из-за бага в работе драйверов с xvideo. Падали иксы при попытке использовать этот режим в любой софте (хромиум, скайп, видеопроигрыватели....). В 14.3 это исправлено - у меня не падает больше.

Причем баг был, насколько я понял, на системах 64 бит.
